Gut zu wissen
The size leaves room for large photos, tables and longer texts, and it is used for catalogues, annual reports, member magazines and presentations of a business or a club. Opened up, a portrait A4 booklet is 420 × 297 mm, while a landscape one is 594 × 210 mm. The booklet is saddle-stitched and has 8 to 96 pages, always a number that divides by four. In the editor you see every spread the way a reader meets it, with the cover as the back and the front, and the page numbers renumber themselves when you add or move a spread. Download the booklet as PDF Print with single pages in reading order and 3 mm bleed, or as spreads.
Häufig gestellte Fragen
- How big is an A4 booklet when opened?
- A portrait A4 booklet is 420 × 297 mm when opened, the size of an A3 sheet. A landscape A4 booklet is 594 × 210 mm when opened.
- When should I choose landscape over portrait?
- Landscape suits wide photos, timelines and tables with many columns, as in a portfolio or an annual report. Portrait is the classic shape for catalogues and magazines.
- Which file should I send to the print shop?
- Choose PDF Print. It is a print-ready PDF/X-4 in CMYK with 3 mm bleed, either as single pages in reading order or as spreads, whichever your print shop asks for.
